The Kiwanis Club of Polk City will hold its annual Christmas Silent Auction in the Polk City Community Room during the Polk City Tree Lighting event from 6 to 8 pm. Following your visit with Santa Claus in the firehouse, walk through the Community Room past tables that will hold many community donated Christmas treasures to bid, and outbid on!

High bids will be determined between 8 and 8:30 pm, and we will call you if you are the high bidder on any of the Christmas treasures for you to return to pick them up!
All proceeds raised by the Kiwanis Club of Polk City are returned to the community for the benefit of children and families. Most of the funds raised from the Christmas Silent Auction will go towards grocery gift cards for families in need within our community during this Christmas season, and for dictionaries provided to all 3rd graders within the North Polk Schools.

Upcoming Kiwanis Club of Polk City Events
The Kiwanis Club of Polk City is having a Christmas Silent Auction during the Polk City Tree Lighting at the Polk City Community Room on Tuesday evening, December 3. ALL proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase Christmas Food Baskets for community members in need and to purchase dictionaries for ALL 3rd graders in North Polk Schools. The dictionary distribution has been conducted for generations by the Kiwanis Club of Polk City as one way to support youth literacy. Please stop by our auction tables to (out)bid on those Christmas treasures you desire and support these community causes!

Kiwanis Club of Polk City Update
Three Kiwanis Club members joined Key Club members walking and riding in the North Polk High School Homecoming Parade from West Elementary School to the Polk City Square. The Key Club designed and built their float on one of their Dad's trailer beds. It was a beautiful day, although a little warm, and the parade was a great success!
The Kiwanis Club of Polk City has held a couple of fundraisers: one, our Four Seasons' Festival Food Stand and Barbecue; and two, the RVTV Kiwanis Food Stand. All the profit from all our fundraisers is returned to the community for projects focusing on children and families. Weather has not been cooperative with those two fundraisers. Either it was excessive heat or excessive rain that limited community members purchasing our hamburgers and hot dogs and drinks.
We are looking forward to the community Christmas Tree Lighting event on Tuesday, December 3 when the Kiwanis Club of Polk City will hold our 3rd annual Christmas Silent Auction in the Polk City Community Room. We look forward to lots of community support in purchasing the donations we receive from many community businesses. We are also hoping any blizzard holds off that day and evening!!!

13th Annual Polk City Community Garage Sale
The 13th Annual Polk City Garage Sale, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Polk City, will be Saturday, June 22 from 8 am to 4:30 pm. You can register by completing the registration form found online at the Kiwanis site (www.kiwanisclubpc.blogspot.com), the Polk City site (https://polkcity.org/index.php/departments/city-hall/), or by picking up a form at the Polk City Hall or the Polk City Library. The completed forms are due at the address provided on the form by June 7 with your $10 (checks made out to the Kiwanis Club of Polk City) in order for your address and items listed to be on the map. This is a great Polk City tradition, and we hope many will participate in this event!

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Polk City Kiwanis is scheduled for 10 am, Saturday, April 13 at the fields of Lakeside Fellowship Church for kids 8 and under.
Kiwanis will also be hosting their Annual Pancake Breakfast the same day from 8 am – 12 noon in the Lakeside Fellowship Church, 1121 W. Bridge Rd., Polk City. There will be a ‘free will’ donation at the breakfast with all proceeds going towards sponsoring 5th graders at Kiwanis Camp OK in June, sponsoring Key Club Conference attendees and helping to fund North Polk High School scholarships. Lakeside Fellowship will have games and crafts from 8 am – 12 noon in their gym.
