Tax Deductible Donation to the Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Project

To make a tax deductible donation to the Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Project to build a second basketball court at Polk City's Kiwanis Park that will also serve as an ice skating rink in the colder months of the winter, please send your check made out to the "Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Projects Fund" with "KIWA81" recorded in the Memo section of your check to:

Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines
Attn: Wade Den Hartog
1915 Grand Avenue
Des Moines, Iowa  50309

The Community Foundation will then send you a letter confirming your tax deductible contribution. If you do that before December 31, 2014, you can claim that charitable donation in the 2014 tax year. Our capital campaign will begin in April, 2015 and last throughout 2015; however, any contribution made yet this year will be directed toward that Kiwanis Park expansion capital campaign.

We thank you for contributing this expansion of our recreational opportunities in the "City of Four Seasons," Polk City.

PROPOSED Basketball Court/Ice Skating Rink

The Kiwanis Club of Polk City is working with the City of Polk City, the Polk City Chamber of Commerce, the Polk City Women's Club and other community groups toward implementing a community-based capital campaign with the goal of building a second basketball court at Kiwanis Park, in Polk City, that would also serve as an ice skating rink. We have requested some of the funding needed from the City of Polk City's Parks' Commission, as well as begun applying for community-directed grants for additional funds. We will begin our capital campaign to raise the rest of the funds needed to build the project from the residents and businesses of Polk City sometime after mid-April, 2015. Our goal is to complete the fundraising needed by the end of 2015. We have established a Greater Des Moines Community Foundation fund, "Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Projects Fund," in which people can contribute donations which would then be tax deductible; a great way to help expand Kiwanis Park to increase recreational opportunities for our residents, and at the same time, provide a tax benefit. We look forward to working with the community as we expand our opportunities in the "City of Four Seasons!"
