Kiwanis Club of Polk City Food/Barbecue Stand at the Four Seasons' Festival

The Polk City Four Seasons' Festival is tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday, July 15 and 16. The Kiwanis Club of Polk City runs our Food/Barbecue Stand from 5:00 to 7:30 pm Friday evening and from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm Saturday. Be sure to visit us at our stand to purchase barbecue pork sandwiches or hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. We appreciate the sales and all profit goes back into the community to benefit children's programs and services. Thank you ahead of time for your patronage! You may have another opportunity to purchase our barbecue sandwiches if we have any left over from the stand. If we do, some of our North Polk Key Club members and a Kiwanis member will be selling barbecue sandwiches in the entertainment area after we close our stand on Saturday evening.

Kiwanis Club of Polk City Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt

Palm Sunday's Kiwanis Breakfast brought many friends, family and neighbors together for tasty pancakes and French toast with sausage, eggs, orange juice and coffee.  The C.W Hobbs String Band provided the toe-tapping accompaniment to a memorable breakfast. For the past 60 years, since 1956, proceeds from the Kiwanis Breakfast provided funds for the following weekend's Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt and also provides some of the funding for other Polk City Community Children's programs.

The 60th Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt took place this past weekend with probably grandchildren of the original hunt attending.  But in recent years, wrapped Easter candy and prizes were found while 60 years ago live chickens and ducklings plus hard boiled eggs were found.  However, for 60 years there has always been the 'golden egg' to find. The Easter Egg hunt is funded by the Palm Sunday Kiwanis Club of Polk City Pancake Breakfast.

Further information on current Kiwanis events and 70 years of history can be obtained on this web site (
