To make a tax deductible donation to the Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Project to work with the city on planning and construction of parks' expansion, please send your check made out to the "Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Projects Fund" with "KIWA81" recorded in the Memo section of your check to:

The Community Foundation will then send you a letter confirming your tax deductible contribution. If you do that before April 15, 2016 (for the 2015 tax year), you can claim that charitable donation in the 2015 tax year. Our formal capital campaign should begin by April, 2016 and may last into spring, 2017; however, any contribution made yet this year will be directed toward that Kiwanis Park expansion capital campaign.

Kiwanis Club of Polk City Raising Funds with Pasta Dinner

An All-You-Can-Eat Pasta Dinner (spaghetti), sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Polk City, will be held on Sunday, September 27 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Papa's Pizzeria, 214 Dorn St., Polk City (on the Square). 100% of the profits from all Kiwanis fundraisers benefit the youth of the Polk City community and the North Polk Schools. The meal will include all-you-can-eat homemade spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and ice cream.

Tickets are $9 for adults, $6 for children age 5 to 12, and free for children age 4 and under. Carryouts are available. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Kiwanis member for a $1 discount (full price at the door on Sunday).

Please support the children in our community and plan your Sunday activities with a spaghetti dinner!

9th Annual Polk City Community Garage Sale

The 9th Annual Polk City Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015.  You can find a registration form in the "Events" section of this website.  Complete the registration and mail it with the $10 registration fee to the address indicated on the form to arrive by June 15 to be included on the city map that will be distributed that day.  Maps will be available at Polk City's Kum and Go and Casey's stores on Saturday morning, June 27, as well as on this website and the Polk City website.  Be a part of the Annual Polk City Community Garage Sale by submitting your registration form by June 15.  Take advantage of lots of people out and about that day checking out the garage sales listed on the map. 

Kiwanis Club of Polk City Sponsors Student to Attend HOBY

A North Polk High School sophomore, Nick Miller, President Elect of Polk City Kiwanis sponsored Key Club at North Polk High School, was awarded registration fees to attend HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership) at Central College this summer by the Kiwanis Club of Polk City Board of Directors.  HOBY inspires young people to make a difference and become catalysts for positive change in their home, school, workplace and community.  As a foremost youth leadership organization, HOBY has a long and impressive history of successfully motivating youth and volunteers towards outstanding leadership.  Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Polk City awards funds to community youth to assist in developing their leadership skills.  Check out joining North Polk's Key Club at www.keyclub.org.  Also, check out the Kiwanis Club of Polk City at:  www.kiwanisclubpc.blogspot.com.  Check out HOBY at www.hoby.org.

Kiwanis Club/Polk City Fire Department Pancake and French Toast Breakfast

The Kiwanis Club of Polk City and the Polk City Fire Department will host a Pancake and French toast Breakfast on Saturday, May 9 from 8:00 am to noon at the Polk City Community Room. A free will donation to the Kiwanis Club of Polk City Community Projects' Fund will be accepted.

Kiwanis Club of Polk City Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Polk City Kiwanis Breakfast is Sunday, March 29 from 8:00am - 1:00pm at the Polk City Community Center.  Adult tickets are $6.00 and children 5-12 are $4.00.  If tickets are bought before Sunday, the 29th, from Kiwanis members or from Kyle Matzen at the Polk City Edward Jones office, they are $1.00 less.  Entertainment will be from local pianists and the 2nd grand Girl Scout Brownies.  For a 2nd year, the C.W. Hobbs String Band, who play old time fiddle, traditional country and some Bluegrass and are very well known through the Des Moines area, will play throughout the morning.  All proceeds from this event fund the Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 4, at 10:00am at the North Polk West Elementary field and other children's community programs throughout the year.  The Easter Bunny will attend and loves to have his picture taken.
